For the head cold you left me. UGH!
My mom came for a nice visit. We went to Windsor to the casino Tuesday night. Didn't win a thing. But I guess you have to spend money to win money, right?
Went to the library today and the librarian handed me a book for the boys. The World of Columbus and Sons by Genevieve Foster. She said she would rather I check it out because she knows my boys would appreciate it, instead of a PS teacher taking it and the kids not even paying attention. Don't you love it when your librarians know you, know what you are teaching and have great books waiting for you? I also found a book called Christopher Columbus: recognizing Sterotypes. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but here is what the library catalog says about it: "Presents different viewpoints on the importance of Columbus in the discovery of America. Includes critical thinking activities to help the reader recognize stereotypes." It is part of a whole series with many different subjects. (Advertising, Causes of Crime, Free Speech, The Homeless, Smoking and Television are just a few.)
I finally got our timeline book done. It is something I have been wanting to do *forever* but just never got around to it. We had one for a long time but I wanted to make the divisions that SWB recommends. Now that it is done I just need to print them on cardstock and get going with them. ::slapping head:: I knew I forgot something when I was out! I guess the cardstock will have to wait till tomorrow.
